Tiempos Modernos - 79" by 37" (SOLD)
Series “Los Muñecos”
By Daniel Ortega Beltrán
Acrylic on Canvas
79in by 37in
I dreamt of a town by the sea, my vision appearing as an old 30mm film camera. The buildings were cardboard boxes, inhabited by dolls. En masse, the dolls rushed out of their boxes with flags and banners to fight for their freedom. The press stood by with heads made of popcorn with intent to misinform - entertain.
An absurd reality.
Confused and now awake, I began to paint in black and white during a cold night in Buenos Aires.
Inspired by the events of July 11th, 2019 in Havana, Cuba.
